He has engaged in both private and public practice, emphasizing in Criminal and Civil Litigation, Arbitration, Commercial Law, Administrative Law, and Environmental Law.

Having been admitted to the Bar in 1985. He studied at the University of Panama and at the Complutense University (Madrid, Spain). He has engaged in both private and public practice, emphasizing in Criminal and Civil Litigation, Arbitration, Commercial Law, Administrative Law, and Environmental Law.

His public career includes Senior First Prosecutor (1995-2001), and Ombudsman of the Republic of Panama (2001-2006). Also, he represented the Republic of Panama at the Hemispheric Meeting on Crime and Crime Prevention (1999), and was elected President, Central American Council of Ombudsmen (2003-2004), and Member, State Pact for Justice Reforms (2005).

He has been a Guest Speaker at various national and international congresses, forums, and seminars. He co-authored the drafting of two laws: the Unique Vehicle Registry Law and the DNA Testing for Bank and Databases, same which are currently in force.

Mr. Tejada-Espino is a current member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) and of the Panama National Bar Association. He is an active Arbitrator at the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of Panama.
